Casade heat pump unit

The air source cascade heat pump couples two independent refrigeration cycles through an intermediate heat exchanger, enabling step-by-step heat transfer. This design overcomes the limitations of single-stage systems under low ambient temperature and high water temperature conditions-such as excessive compression ratio, high discharge temperature, and low volumetric efficiency. It ensures stable hot water output of up to 80°C (with R134a) or 95°C (with R515B) even in extremely cold climates as low as -35°C, offering wide applicability.

 

Operating Principle

The air source cascade heat pump is mainly composed of two independent systems: a low-temperature stage and a high-temperature stage. The evaporator of the low-temperature stage absorbs heat from the air and transfers it to the high-temperature stage via an intermediate evaporator-condenser. The high-temperature stage then exchanges this heat with the water medium through its condenser, thereby achieving high-temperature hot water or heating supply.
